Waterloo man faces multiple charges for weapon and drug possession

A Waterloo man now faces multiple charges after police find multiple weapons in his home.
Officers with the Violent Crime Apprehension Team (VCAT) executed a search warrant at 1256 W. Mullan Ave. reference a weapons investigation.
Police said 24-year-old Malik Deshion Edwards had two semi-auto handguns, marijuana, and evidence of drug distribution in his home.
Edwards is prohibited from possessing firearms due to multiple previous felony convictions including a Willful Injury felony conviction stemming from a shooting in 2019.
Edwards was charged with two counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and one count of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver while in possession of a firearm.
