No matter what situation you are in, you should always do what is right. In every moment, we have two options either to do what is needed or to run away from it. The right thing means nothing but to do what is necessary and feels right to us, by keeping consequences in mind. If you do the right things just because someone is going to reward you, it may make doing the right thing a selfish thing.
And sometimes, a small gesture can lead to bigger things. Luckily, for one brave and amazing woman, an act of kindness bonded two new friends. The brave woman, Brooke, went viral online after she posted about her experience on social media. She posted on her social media account that she went to a restaurant for lunch and held the door open for a woman.
It turns out both of them were there alone, so Brooke asked the woman if she’d like to dine with her. They did. As they sat and chatted, Brooke learned about the difficult time the woman has gone through. Brooke learned about the woman’s difficult time – her mother had recently passed away and her aunt was moved into a nursing home.
As they kept talking, they decided to start having lunch together every Thursday. Brooke’s post about her new friend has since garnered over 1.7 million likes, 225,000 shares and more than 100,000 comments. Dear readers, we are republishing this story in light of recent reports that suggest more and more people all across the country are experiencing random acts of kindness even amid the challenges of the pandemic.
