Woman claims she was asked to leave the restaurant after she recorded an elderly man letting his dog drink from the restaurant’s cup used for human customers and complained because she was very upset about it
The woman, who is also a restaurant owner, claims she was asked to leave another restaurant after she complained that a dog was allowed to drink from a glass used for human customers. The woman claims that the restaurant staff and manager sided with the elderly man because he lives near the restaurant. The man reportedly asked for a cup of water, only to let his dog drink from the restaurant’s cup! The woman recorded the man letting his dog drink from the restaurant’s cup and was very upset about it. She then complained about it and was asked to leave.
On July 17, 2022, Saudia Shuler, the owner of the Country Cooking Restaurant and Catering, was reportedly asked to leave Devon Seafood and Grill after she complained about a dog being allowed to drink from a glass typically used for people. According to Shuler, the staff reportedly sided with the man because he lives near the restaurant. Shuler recorded the moment and shared the video on her social media account. She shared the video with the following caption: “This is how it started. I was so shocked that he asked the people for a glass of water for him and the dog. Devon’s seafood grill y’all went too far. He knew it was wrong that’s why he was sneaking to do it. He live there that’s why they catered to him.”
Shuler also said that the elderly man knew it was wrong to share the glass with his dog, but did it anyway. She also said that the reason the restaurant did not reprimand the older white man was he live there that’s why they catered to him. In the video, the man can be seen sitting on a chair looking around, while the dog playfully dances around.
In another video, the dog can be seen drinking water from a glass typically used for people. The famous restaurant owner later posted another video in which she stated that she was so disgusted she could not eat her food. After she saw the dog drinking water from a glass, Shuler called the restaurant manager, who told her this was acceptable in the community and also brought the dog out some biscuits, ABS reports.
“Did I say, I come here every week to eat? I come cause I love the food. Look at the dog, they’re giving them biscuits. I couldn’t even eat my food. I am bringing my own cups from now on. Period,” Shuler can be heard saying in the video. In another video, the waitress reportedly asked Shuler to leave. “We are going to have to ask you to leave because this is getting out of control,” the waitress can be heard saying.
Shuler then shared a post on her social media account about the safety of humans and animals sharing the same dishes with the following caption: “If I did this. Y’all would have my damn head on a platter. Devon’s Seafood Grill is out of pocket for giving the man a glass of water to a dog. He wasn’t even buying anything. Then after I made a issue about it. He brought a beer. The Manager and workers was rude to me after I said something, told me I had to leave and all. I was waiting for my lyth and they said I had to leave. After they saw the man give the dog the water out the glass no one said anything. Then they brought the dog biscuits to eat.”
