Waterloo Fire Rescue completed ‘live’ fire training for department personnel
Waterloo, IOWA – According to the statement, the firefighters exercised initial incident scene size-up communications and interior fire attack tactics with regard to initial hose line operations.
Their ‘burn building’ reportedly allowed the firefighters to burn class A fuel (wood and hay) fires in a controlled and monitored setting that achieve room temperatures in access of 800 degrees producing smoke, heat, and fire conditions.
Every second counts to us as it does the victim of a fire, WFD officials said.
Following the initial scene assessment and rescue priority, calculated navigating and speed of personnel with the initial hose line to the seat of the fire allows them to suppress it’s advancement and take control of the incident and the conditions the fire created.
