Video shows former elementary school principal shoving a special needs child violently after the upset student approaches him
This former elementary school principal goes viral after a video surfaced of him appearing to shove a student to the ground. In the video, former WES Principal Brian V. can be seen pushing a student in the chest, causing him to fall to the floor during breakfast time on June 7, per reports. According to the School District, the former principal and other staff members were interacting with an upset special needs student and the principal chose to aggressively shove the student down rather than de-escalating the situation.
According to the Post, video recorded on June 7 of this year shows former principal Brian V. shoving a special needs child violently after the upset student approaches him. Laying hands on a student of any kind is reprehensible. Doing so in the fashion in which the former principal did and doing it to a child whose known cognitive ability requires adults to demonstrate patience.
The district’s superintendent called the behaviour repugnant, adding that such actions are absolutely not tolerated at any level within the School District.
The former principal was reported to both the police and child protective services and is facing charges for wilful cruelty to a minor, a misdemeanour. This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
