School board treasurer and president got into a disagreement over building new schools before the president slammed the treasurer’s head on a table and proceeded to choke her

The school board president reportedly attacked the board’s treasurer during a meeting. She slammed her victim’s head on a table and proceeded to choke her, officials said. The school board president was voted out of her presidency on the community school board 6-0 on Wednesday during an emergency meeting. Per reports, the school board president and the board’s treasurer got into a disagreement over building new schools.

The Community School Board President from Michigan, Danielle Green, lost her job after she allegedly attacked Treasurer Laura McIntyre at the Finance Committee meeting, Wednesday morning. This incident occurred around 10:11 a.m.

According to M Live , superintendent Kevelin Jones said the attack followed the two women earlier got into a disagreement over building new schools.

During the emergency meeting where the school board president was removed, the victim said there was no fight and the only person fighting was Green.

Treasurer Laura McIntyre reportedly said: “I stood up to back away at which point she grabbed my throat and then grabbed my hair and slammed my head into the table and started punching me in the head. It was not warranted, uncalled for and completely inappropriate. It will not be tolerated and we are taking action tonight.

In the moment, I was shocked and surprised. It had never crossed my mind that anything like this would ever escalate like this. There was no fight. There was no argument. This escalated out of nothing and very quickly it was an attack. It was an assault. I’m only here to make sure the truth comes out and justice is served. I was attacked out of nowhere, for no reason.”

The treasurer said that she already filed a police report and will be pressing charges against the former school board president. She also said that, after the attack, she was taken to hospital where she was treated for concussion, per reports.

Treasurer Laura McIntyre told ABC 12 News: At this point, I plan to pursue this to the full extent of the law and I’m looking at my other legal options as an individual.”

Green is still allowed to serve on the Board of Education, since she was elected. The Board of Education reportedly decided to have police at all future meetings until further notice, according to NBC 25 News.

The former school board president, Danielle Green, reportedly said: “This is not one of my highlights of my anything, my life, my career, my position in the community. None of this am I proud of. Absolutely not. And this is one incident. Never in my life would I have thought something like this I will be involved in ever, ever. And I can say this, my record speaks for itself.”

Superintendent Kevelin Jones released the following statement: “We are aware of the incident and we are committed to the safety of all members of our school community.

I want to assure families that we will remain focused on our mission to provide a high-quality education to our scholars. We are focused on our families this school year and beyond.”

This incident remains under investigation. This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
