Police: 37-year-old man charged in deadly wrong-way DUI crash

Waterloo, IA – According to the court documents, his name is Willie Walker and he was taken into custody on Monday.
The 37-year-old man is now charged with homicide by vehicle – operating under the influence and serious injury by vehicle.
This unfortunate accident occurred around 9:51 p.m. on May 27, 2021.
The suspect was reportedly driving southbound on Highway 218 when his vehicle crossed over the grass median and collided with another vehicle.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Prosecutors said the suspect did not have a valid driver’s license and blood tests result in a BAC of .131 percent.
