Mother says she was repeatedly turned away by her doctor, who told her that she was suffering with a post-natal hormonal imbalance, before she was diagnosed with a terminal illness and has just months to live
The 34-year-old mom says her doctor reportedly told her that she suffered from a post-natal depression and had low iron until she was diagnosed with terminal illness. Unfortunately, the mother has been told that she has between 6 and 18 months to live. The mother of two knew something was wrong after collapsing into bed after a walk and being unable to get out for days. Her family is trying to raise money so the mother can undergo an anti-neopeptide treatment. “Never in my wildest dreams could I have thought that within 5 years of becoming a mummy I would be told I don’t have long to live.” the unfortunate mother said.
The 34-year-old woman, Chanelle Moles, said that she started feeling unbearable fatigue after giving birth to her second child in 2019.
The woman claims that she was repeatedly turned away by her doctor, who reportedly told her that she was suffering with a post-natal hormonal imbalance. The mother of two knew something was wrong after collapsing into bed after a walk and being unable to get out for days, the Daily Mail reports.
The mom reportedly underwent a colonosc0py in October 2020 and was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. More scans discovered that the cancer had spread into her liver. Her family is trying to raise money so the mother can undergo an anti-neopeptide treatment in Texas.
According to the Mirror, the doctors operated within a month to remove the tumor and the spots on her liver. The 34-year-old mother then underwent 13 months of exhausting chemotherapy before her body started struggling under the treatment.
Per reports, the medical personnel used a type of radiation therapy called CyberKnife which was initially successful and sent her into remission after destroying the lesions on her liver.
Unfortunately, the mother was told in December 2021 that the cancer had spread to her peritoneal cavity, ovaries, and throughout her abdomen.
The mother from Australia told Daily Mail that now, the cancer has spread into her lymph nodes, diaphragm, lungs and returned back to the liver.
She has been told she has between 6 and 18 months to live, Yahoo News reports.
The GoFundMe Page states: “Please Help Save Chanelle by donating whatever you can to help her receive imminent life saving cancer treatment in the US. Chanelle is a 34 year old wife and mother of 2 young children, in 2020 she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer after 12 months of being misdiagnosed with low iron, post-natal depression and hormone imbalance.
By August 2020, after months of fatigue when a short walk meant Chanelle couldn’t get out of bed for three days, she pushed Dr’s harder to see what was really wrong, she eventually had a colonosc0py and in October 2020, the colonoscopy showed a 9 x 10 x 8 cm tumor in her colon, a few weeks later further scans confirmed their worst nightmare – the cancer had spread to Chanelle’s liver and was Stage 4.
Due to the aggressive nature of the cancer she has, Chanelle underwent thirteen months of invasive chemotherapy, countless major surgeries and natural treatments. In July 2021, her body could not continue with chemo any longer. Scans revealed the spots on her liver had not reduced.
In August 2021, they tried CyberKnife to get rid of the spots. In November 2021, scans revealed CyberKnife had destroyed the legions on her liver, and she was told she was in REMISSION! Only those who have faced cancer can truly understand what those words mean.”
The unfortunate mother wrote on her Facebook profile: “Never in my wildest dreams could I have thought that within 5 years of becoming a mummy I would be told I don’t have long to live. Everyday I wake up I wish I could just ‘wake up’ from this nightmare and see that it was all just a dream. Unfortunately it is not, this is my reality and the reality for my beautiful children and husband.
I have a chance at being able to be here to see my children grow up, to live past 34 years. If you can find it in your heart and your means to help, please do. Not just for me, but for my kids. I don’t want to leave them, not yet. I love life and I am doing everything I possibly can to fight for mine. If you can help it would mean more than the world to me. It is everything.”
The fundraising page posted an updated yesterday, stating that the mother has enough funds for the first 3 months of the treatment and the family is organizing their flights to the US for the 12th May. The total treatment time is estimated to go for 6-9 months so any additional funds will go towards the continuation of treatment for the 34-year-old woman.
