Man thought he found puppy in the forest, but ‘was left stunned and screamed for help when he saw the creature growing’!
We all love dogs, right? Did you know that there is evidence that interacting with pets does reduce people’s stress, provided the pet is behaving properly? Ladies and gentlemen, good interactions do have quite a profound effect, causing changes in oxytocin and in beta endorphins. Those are actual changes going on in the body of somebody who is stroking a friendly dog. So, when this man found ‘a puppy in the forest’, he immediately took it home.
But, he got the surprise of his life when it grew up to be a massive bear. The accidental bear owner named only as Yang said he found the cuddly young creature while picking mushrooms near his home in south-western China. Thinking he had stumbled across a lonely dog, he took the animal home from the mountains and adopted it as his pet.
But since welcoming it into his home, the animal has grown to be an 80kg bear (SEE PHOTO). As the ‘puppy’ continued to grow, Yang realised his mistake and bought a cage to keep it in. According to The Mirror, authorities reportedly found the bear in the small cage on the roof of Yang’s house. The animal is an Asian black bear and is a second-level protected species in the country.
Owning one without a special permit is punishable with a fine of up to $400, but Yang’s fine was waived as he cooperated with police. Reports suggest the unnamed bear has now been moved to an animal sanctuary where it will have better care. Asian black bears are threatened by deforestation of their mountain habitats and by being hunted for use in traditional Chinese medicine.
