Local man sentenced to 15 months in prison for possessing a firearm

Waterloo, IA – According to the court documents, the 19-year-old defendant was sentenced to 15 months in prison.
Prosecutors said the 19-year-old defendant must serve three years of supervised release after his prison term ends.
His name is Vantez Wright Jr. and he was sentenced on Monday, court records say.
Prosecutors said the defendant reportedly pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a firearm by a drug user.
The defendant reportedly told authorities that he regularly used and sold marijuana and that he would rather have a gun at his house.
