Local man convicted on federal weapons charges

Waterloo, IA – The 29-year-old defendant was found guilty of felon in possession of a firearm following three days of trial in U.S. District Court.
His name is Trivansky Swington and he reportedly pointed a revolver at a woman’s head and fired a shot at a house in 2021.
The defendant reportedly got into an argument inside a vehicle as he and others were leaving a home following a night of drinking.
He then pulled out a revolver and pointed it at the woman’s head.
The defendant then fired off a single shot as he left.
The responding officers made contact with the suspect and located the revolver.
