LCSO: Single-vehicle crash at Monticello Rd and Hwy 13 leaves one person dead

Linn County, IA – According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the single-vehicle crash occurred right after 4 a.m. early Wednesday morning.

It happened at Monticello Rd and Hwy 13.

Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies, Coggon Fire Department crews, Prairieburg Fire Department crews, and Center Point Ambulance personnel responded to a report of a single vehicle accident.

The responding deputies and crews discovered that the victim’s vehicle was traveling westbound on Monticello Rd near Hwy 13 when it failed to negotiate a curve and lost control rolling several times coming to rest in the south ditch.

The driver and only occupant was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim was later identified as 33-year-old Michaela Devaney.

This incident remains under investigation.
