Juvenile facing charges after leading deputy on high-speed chase
Linn County, IA – According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, this incident occurred right before 11 p.m. late Monday night.
It happened on County Home Rd. near North Center Point Rd.
LCSO deputy initiated a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle (Volkswagen Passat) for speeding.
The suspect’s vehicle accelerated north on North Center Point Rd.
The vehicle turned off on a gravel road then on to hard surface road.
Speeds reached over one hundred miles an hour, LCSO said.
The vehicle stopped on Roosevelt Rd. near East Otter Rd.
The responding deputy discovered that the driver was a juvenile male and the passenger was a juvenile female.
Both were detained without incident.
There are no injuries or damage to report. Both juveniles were released to parents.
The male driver had charges referred to juvenile court and there were no charges for the female passenger.
