Driver crashed on Black Hawk-Buchanan Avenue after he lost control of his vehicle when the tyre came off

Buchanan County, IA – According to the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred around 12:09 p.m. Sunday.

It happened on Black Hawk-Buchanan Avenue at I380.

Buchanan County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a crash.

The responding deputies discovered that a Mercury Mariner was traveling southbound on Black Hawk Buchanan Avenue and turned onto the on-ramp to I380 south.

While turning, the right rear tire came off of the vehicle, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The Mercury Mariner then overturned, coming to rest on its roof on the on-ramp.

The driver, later identified as Joseph Marks, suffered minor injuries but did not require EMS treatment.

This incident remains under investigation.
