CRPD: 17-year-old arrested, charged with intimidation with a weapon, interference with official acts
Cedar Rapids, IA – The shooting occurred around 5:09 p.m. Sunday, police officials said.
It happened near 15th Avenue Southwest.
Cedar Rapids Police Department officers responded to a shooting call.
When the officers arrived on scene, they made contact with the 33-year-old victim.
The victim reportedly told them that they had intervened in a dispute involving neighbors.
The 17-year-old suspect then pulled out a handgun and fired several shots.
The unidentified suspect then fled the scene.
The responding officers reportedly found the suspect’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
The officers reportedly found a handgun in the vehicle.
The 17-year-old suspect is now charged with intimidation with a weapon and interference with official acts.
