Crews respond to residential structure fire Wednesday afternoon

Waterloo, IA – Waterloo Fire Rescue officials said this unfortunate incident occurred right after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
It happened near the Cedar River and Rooff Park.
Waterloo Fire Rescue crews responded to a report of a residential structure fire.
The responding crews saw smoke coming from the windows of a two-story structure.
They discovered that the fire started inside a first-floor apartment.
Unfortunately, one adult died in the fire.
The victim’s age or identity have not yet been released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
