Crews respond to house fire Saturday afternoon on Wilson Ave SW

Cedar Rapids, IOWA – According to the Cedar Rapids Fire Department, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 4 p.m. Saturday.

It happened at 2802 Wilson Ave SW.

Cedar Rapids Fire Department crews responded to a report of a house fire.

The responding crews saw smoke coming from several points between the house and attached garage but no flames were present.

They began probing for the fire source and located it in the wall, consistent with initial information.

The responding crews then proceeded to expose the fire by removing wall materials and extinguished it quickly with attack lines.

Two adults, two minors and two family pets were all able to escape without injury.

No one was injured in this incident, officials said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
