Bank director lost his job after he was filmed attacking waiters and restaurant owner because they refused to let him use the bathroom after he stumbled in drunk in the middle of the night
The global investment bank reportedly fired its media and info services director after the man was filmed attacking waiters and restaurant owner because they refused to let him use the bathroom after he stumbled in drunk in the middle of the night. The video was shared on social media by the restaurant owner’s daughter, who said that her mother suffered back pain after being pushed by the director. The owner’s daughter shared the video on her social media profile with the following caption: “My parents work 7 days a week and they haven’t taken a vacation in 6 years. When the cops came they just talked to the guy and walked away. Our waiter’s forehead was bleeding after the guy hit his head. He grabbed my moms phone to break it and he didn’t get charged for anything.”
According to the New York Post, the director at Credit Suisse, later identified as Roman Cambell, was reportedly fired from his media and information services role at the bank after video of him attacking waiters at a restaurant was shared on social media. The video was shared by the restaurant owner’s daughter, Sunabi Yi.
According to the restaurant owner’s daughter, this incident occurred right before 2 a.m. early Saturday morning, June 4. The video reportedly shows the man arriving at Shanghai Mong in New York City and demanding to be allowed inside to use the bathroom. According to the New York Post, the female restaurant owner, Jane Yi, reportedly told the man that the restrooms were for customers only. So, Cambell started recording the woman on his phone while she spoke.
When the restaurant owner took her phone out, the director reportedly smacked it out of her hand and then pushed his way into the back of the restaurant. One of the restaurant’s waiters, later identified as Jose Morales, tried to stop him. Unfortunately, he was struck by Cambell and ended up bleeding from the head.
The owner’s daughter posted surveillance footage of the incident on TikTok and Instagram, asking for the public’s help in finding him. During an interview with Daily Mail, she reportedly said that her mother Jane suffered back pain after being pushed by Cambell.
“Everyone in the restaurants doing okay. My mom’s lower back was in pain for a few days because she was pushed by Roman. She got pushed into some clothes hangers behind our counter. The waiter is okay but his forehead has some bruising after getting punched and his finger has a scab that’s healing up. My mother and the waiter are mentally healing now because this was very traumatizing for them.” she reportedly told Daily Mail.
During an interview with the New York Post, Cambell reportedly said that he doesn’t think he did anything wrong and that he was provoked by one of the waiters spraining his thumb.
Jane Yi’s husband, Tora, told the NYP that the incident also cost the restaurant business: “When you see the video, there are 10 people walking in behind him. They are my friends. They’re my customers, and they all left without ordering. Who wants to come into a restaurant when something like that is happening?”
The local police department is investigating this incident, no arrests have been made yet. This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
