Single vehicle crash on I-380 sends 80-year-old driver to hospital with non-life threatening injuries
Linn County, IA – According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred right after 10 p.m. late Monday night.
It happened on I-380 at the 35 mile marker.
Linn County Sheriff’s deputies, Linn County Rescue crews, Iowa State Patrol troopers, Center Point Fire Department crews, and Center Point Ambulance responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash.
The responding deputies discovered that the 80-year-old driver, later identified as Roger Beermann, was southbound on I-380 when he struck a mattress that was lying in the roadway.
The driver then lost control of his vehicle and went into the median where the vehicle rolled coming to rest on the driver’s side.
Beermann suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
No other information is available at the moment.
The accident remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
