Parent says a high school teacher ‘has to be held accountable to explain what he meant by that’ after he called a student the N-word during an altercation that was caught on camera
The high school teacher was caught on video using the N-word during an altercation with at least one student. In the video, which lasts about 30 seconds, the educator repeatedly uses racial slurs while discussing the altercation with the student. The school officials said that they are aware of this incident and are reviewing this matter. “It came to our attention that a video has surfaced involving a teacher at our school. Its contents include the teacher using inappropriate and racially insensitive language. We are taking this matter seriously.” the school administrators said.
The high school teacher at L0uisville Male High School in Kentucky reportedly used racially insensitive language with a student in an incident caught on video. The video, which was shared on Facebook and posted on Twitter, showed the educator calling a Black student the N-word, Courier Journal reports.
The video reportedly shows an adult man wearing a purple t-shirt reaching for a cell phone during an altercation with a student.
At the end of the video, the unidentified high school teacher repeatedly addresses a student as a “monkey” and uses a racial slur.
During an interview with WHAS11, parent Casandra Miller said that her daughter Genesis is a junior at the high school and she had this teacher last year.
Miller reportedly told WHAS11: “Those are words that are just inappropriate I think from anybody who are in an authoritative role, particularly when you deal with kids. She [Genesis] was angered by the video. I think he has to be held accountable to explain what he meant by that.”
According to WLKY, the school’s principal, Dr. William Foster, released the following statement:
“LMHS strives to be a welcoming place where students and staff respect each other and can confront differences in a respectful manner. When incidents happen that might contradict those values, I want to make sure I communicate with you so you have the latest information.
