DMPD: Double shooting on Hickman Rd leaves 59-year-old man dead, woman seriously injured

Des Moines, IA – Des Moines Police Department officials said the fatal shooting occurred right after 10 p.m. Sunday night.

It happened on Hickman Rd.

Des Moines Police Department officers responded to a shooting call.

When the officers arrived on scene, they reportedly found two victims – man and a woman.

Police said both victims suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Unfortunately, they 59-year-old man died Monday morning, police said.

He was later identified as Jeffrey Gillom.

The 46-year-old female victim is still in the hospital.

The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.

No suspects have been arrested yet, police said.
