17-year-old driver charged with operating while intoxicated after crashing into Arlington home
Fayette County, IA – According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred right after 2 a.m. early Sunday morning.
It happened in the 700 block of East Street.
Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a crash.
The responding deputies discovered that the 17-year-old driver hit a home with Dodge Ram 1500.
The 17-year-old driver was later located at a residence in the city of Aurora.
The 17-year-old driver is now charged with Operating While Intoxicated First Offense, failure to maintain control and possession/consumption of alcohol under the legal age limit.
The 19-year-old passenger, later identified as Evan Elgin, was charged with possession/consumption of alcohol under the legal age limit.
No one was injured in this incident, officials said.
