Man faces multiple charges after allegedly threatening people with a knife

Stuart, IA – Stuart Police Department officials said this incident occurred right after 3 p.m. Monday afternoon.
Stuart Police Department officers responded to a disturbance call.
The 911 caller told the dispatcher that the suspect was slashing tires and threatening people with a knife while holding the child.
The responding officers made contact with the suspect.
His name is Hunter Vanwyk and he was taken into custody.
The child was not harmed, police said.
Vanwyk is now charged with multiple charges, including: child endangerment, harassment domestic abuse and going armed with intent.
He was booked into the Adair County Jail.
