70-year-old driver dead, woman injured after head-on car crash in Scott County

Bettendorf, IA – Bettendorf Police Department officials said the fatal accident occurred on Saturday.

It happened near the intersection of Lincoln Road and Parkway Drive. 

Bettendorf Police Department officers responded to a report of a crash.

The responding officers discovered that Honda Ridgeline and Toyota Highlander crashed at the location.

The 70-year-old driver of the Honda Ridgeline was driving north on 18th St. when he left the roadway, then drove back onto the road and struck the Toyota Highlander head-on.

He suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 66-year-old female driver of the Toyota Highlander suffered injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims’ names have not yet been released.

This incident remains under investigation.
